Working with Your Ps3 Hard Drive
In the event that you would want to open up your ps3 hard drive, you will need some sort of steps to get it done. Then you would need your PS3 console disconnected from the power source and placed on a flat surface use your flathead screwdriver to pop open the hard drive dust cover located at the bottom on the console. Also, remove the dust cover to expose the hard driver cradle.
For you to remove the cradle and hard drive you need to remove the blue anodized screw. This is where you need to be careful with your ps3 hard drive because if you are not careful then things might go wrong. Use a Philips head screwdriver that fits the screw head perfectly or you can damage the screw quite easily. Hold the console with one hand (get someone to help here if you like) and using a sensible amount of force slowly remove the blue colored screw. If you feel the screwdriver slipping out of the screw head then you need to apply more force to the screwdriver. Take the steps lightly and religiously.
